Earlier this year, Safe Work Australia announced the decision to move to Revision 7 of the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) with a two year transition period commencing on 1 July 2020.
Safe Work Australia has now agreed to delay the 1 July 2020 commencement of the transitional period until 1 January 2021. However, during this six month window any business that had already prepared for the 1 July 2020 commencement will be permitted to do so without penalty.
