Proposition 65 Amended: One Month In

Article 6, of Title 27 of the California Code of Regulation addresses the “clear and reasonable” warning requirements for substances identified as part of the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, aka Proposition 65. On August 30, 2018, new requirements went into force and all products manufactured after that date must comply with the new warnings. As the lead agency responsible for Proposition 65, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), noted in their initial statement of reasons, that these changes were intended to provide more information within the warning to the public, identify the listed chemical(s) and provide the website where more information can be found. Warning requirements are specified for consumer products, environmental and occupational exposure. Additionally, specific verbiage is now required for designated places and products. This webinar is to assist companies with identifying the appropriate Safe Harbor warnings and in asking the right questions both internally, for their own product exposure evaluations, and externally to other members of the supply chain.
