Vietnamese Ministry of Health’s Circular on Labeling of Medicines to Come Into Force Next Month

Vietnam CircularEarlier this year, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health (MOH) published Circular No. 01/2018/TT-BYT on the labeling of medicines, medicinal ingredients and instructions for using drugs. The Circular – which was released on January 18, 2018 – provides details on labels, methods for labeling and packaging of circulated drugs and medicinal ingredients.

It does not apply to circulated drugs and medicinal ingredients intended for export and not yet registered in Vietnam, imported for non-commercial purpose, and imported for urgent need of national defense and security, epidemic control or disaster recovery.

The Circular will become effective on June 1, 2018.

Other Vietnamese Circulars

On December 22, 2017, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health (MOH) published Circular No 47/2017/TT-BYT promulgating the list of active ingredients that are banned/restricted in insecticidal and germicidal preparations for domestic and medical use in Vietnam.

This Circular became effective on February 15, 2018, replacing Circular No. 25/2011/TT-BYT, which previously provided the lists.
