EU CLP Amendments to Technical Progress – What’s New in Europe?

This webinar will present the next big changes in classification and labelling of products for the European market. The era of “orange squares” was ushered out for good on 1 June 2017, which was the deadline to relabel all products on the EU market with older labels to comply with the CLP regulation. But that does not mean industry can breathe a sigh of relief!

We will take a close look at the 8th adaptation to technical progress of the CLP, adopting of the 5th Revision of the UNECE model of the Globally Harmonised System (GHS). We will also preview the upcoming adaptations planned for 9th – 11th ATP, including the incorporation of acute toxicity estimates (ATEs) in the Annex VI.

Finally we will discuss how ECHA guidance is changing as the CLP is adapted to technical progress. We will look in particular at the new recommendations on the use of labelling phrases and when authors need to be attentive to the special conditions under which phrases should (or should not) be used.
